Kish island to launch tourism consortium
TEHRAN - In a bid to bolster sustainable tourism, the CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization has announced the formation of a special consortium dedicated to travel affairs.
Rahim Sarhangi, during the third session of the Summer Travel Headquarters with CEOs and heads of industries in Kish, stated, “This consortium will efficiently utilize the capacities of the private sector and the Kish Free Zone Organization, expediting and facilitating the growth of tourism.”
Emphasizing the necessity of sustainable tourism development in the region, the official declared that the Sustainable Tourism Development Consortium will be formed with the participation and supervision of the Kish Free Zone Organization and the involvement of all Kish communities and industries.
Sarhangi identified developing the necessary infrastructure for tourism growth and facilitating the attraction of domestic and international tourists as key objectives of this consortium.
“Strategic and creative plans will be implemented to sustainably boost tourism in this region,” the CEO of the Kish Free Zone Organization noted, “especially during the low season of summer.”
The official also highlighted the need for reforming and upgrading service delivery on the island, mentioning the efforts to define a tourism platform based on public opinion surveys.
Pointing to the summer low season in Kish tourism as an opportunity, Sarhangi outlined the lucky chance to focus on renovating and equipping tourist facilities, training staff, and improving services to tourists.
He mentioned organizing attractive cultural, religious, and sports events focusing on water sports, food, and traditions festivals, provincial cultural weeks, and holding conferences and specialized exhibitions as the main components of boosting tourism in Kish.
Highlighting the potential of the events, the CEO called for content creation and highlighting Kish’s attractions for domestic and international target markets through national media, family entertainment platforms, and virtual spaces.
Sarhangi referred to providing infrastructure and executing innovative programs as the prerequisite for the comprehensive and balanced development of Kish tourism.
“All sectors need to grow together to meet the needs of tourists and create interest for repeat visits to Kish,” the CEO stated, “alongside implementing tourism development plans.”
In his concluding remarks, Sarhangi announced the formation of a negotiation task force with airlines and the national civil aviation agency, saying “Considering Kish’s geographical location, we are pursuing relevant issues by negotiating with airlines, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, the national aviation organization, and all influential parties in improving flight conditions.”
Amongst the Persian Gulf islands, Kish is the most luxurious and developed one. Except for its unique nature, such as waters and shallow beaches, the tourist attractions of this charming island are due to its rich historical background as well as its kind and hospitable people.
The pristine and beautiful nature, the meeting of land and sea, clear sky, pleasant air, and pleasurable reverberation of the waves create such a sense of calm that one cannot even distinguish between imagination and reality.
